The strength of NTH lies in its specialized and experienced Scientists and Engineers numbering about 330 drawn from diversified fields of Science and Technology, who are positioned in various laboratories located across the country. The Scientists are supported by about 500 qualified and highly skilled technicians, laboratory supervisors, workshop operators and supporting staff.

NTH Scientists had set up laboratories in various developing countries under UNDP Programme.

NTH Technologists represent about 150 forums set up by the Bureau of Indian Standards for formulation of National Standards.

A team of Scientists have been trained and qualified as Assessors by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL).

NTH Engineers represent the Tariff Advisory Committee to carry out Quality and Capacity evaluation of various fire fighting and safety related products.

As a policy, NTH regularly inducts at various levels, experts from industry through the UPSC for better techno-managerial mix. An adept and hand picked team of these Scientists and Engineers would be constituted to provide the requisite Industrial Quality Consultancy Services.
