The requirements of the laboratories in respect of Testing/Calibration equipments/instruments are identified by the Divisional Heads keeping in view the needs of creating test/calibration facilities based on the demands of various small, medium & large scale industries located all over the country. They enlist those equipments/instruments with a view to put the same to the Technical Advisory Council [TAC] of NTH for its examination and approval. The TAC consisting of various members from the National Physical Laboratory, Bhabha Atomic Research Center, Jadavpur Engineering College, Bengal Engineering College, Directorate General of Supplies and Disposals, Bureau of Indian Standards , etc. under the chairmanship of the Director General, NTH in its yearly meeting examines in details the requirements of all the branches of NTH and approves only those equipments/instuments which the Council thinks essential.

The details of test and calibration facilities available in differnt branches of NTH at NTH[ER], Alipore, Calcutta, NTH, Salt Lake, Calcutta, NTH [WR], Mumbai, NTH [SR], Chennai, NTH [NR], Ghaziabad, NTH [NWR], Jaipur and NTH [NER], Guwahati are furnished in ANNEXURE - A, B, C, D, E, F and G respectively.
